When You Need a Fractional Product Executive
You don't need another advisor. You need senior ownership to move the right opportunities forward and create real commercial outcomes.
Launch something new
You have an important opportunity, but it is not yet proven.
- Unclear customer problem or value
- No validated market evidence
- No clear path to a viable product and commercial model
- Risk of building the wrong thing
Productize what you do
Your expertise creates value, but it does not scale.
- Delivered as custom work or services
- Growth limited by expert capacity
- No product or repeatable model
- Missing leverage and margin
Two paths
Two Paths to New Revenue
Both start from something you already have: a credible opportunity, or expertise your customers already value.
New Products
Turn a promising opportunity into a real commercial initiative: opportunity framing, customer and market validation, business model, product and MVP definition, launch planning, and early market execution.
Learn moreProductization
Turn repeatable services, expertise or internal know-how into an offering that is easier to sell, easier to deliver, and less dependent on founders, scarce experts, bespoke work, or proportional headcount.

If an important product or productization initiative has started but is struggling to move forward, Product Upgraded can step in, re-establish the evidence and decisions, and take ownership through the next stage.
What we provide
One Senior Owner for the Whole Initiative
Important growth initiatives usually sit between functions. Strategy, product, technology, sales and operations each own a part, but nobody owns the commercial outcome end to end. Product Upgraded provides one experienced senior owner for the full path from evidence to market.
- Customer evidence
- Commercial model
- Proposition
- Product / service definition
- Technology direction
- Operating model
- Launch
- Measurement
- Early execution
Internal teams and specialist partners may execute parts of the work. Product Upgraded keeps the initiative connected to the commercial outcome. Not an agency. Not a generic fractional CPO.
Engagements
Three Ways to Engage
They can form a progression, but clients enter at the point that matches the initiative. The first three stages decide. The last two execute.
01
Decision Sprint
Frame the Opportunity → Obtain Evidence → Refine the Model
“Is this opportunity worth pursuing, and what should we do?”
A fixed-scope entry engagement around one growth opportunity, product idea, or existing service. Frame the opportunity, obtain evidence, refine the commercial model, and leave with a clear go, change, or stop recommendation plus a practical roadmap.
02
Build, Productize & Launch
Give It Form → Execute & Evolve
“How do we turn the decision into something real in market?”
After the go decision, we stay on as the senior owner through product or offer definition, MVP, operating model, team and partner coordination, pilot, launch, and early iteration.
03
Fractional Product Leadership
Execute & Evolve, through handover
“Who keeps senior ownership until the product or business line is established internally?”
Continued senior ownership until the product or business line has a stable operating rhythm and a clear internal owner.
How we work
The FORGE Framework
Five stages from opportunity to market, with one senior owner throughout and investment increasing only as the evidence gets stronger.
01
Frame the opportunity
Define the opportunity, target customer, problem, desired outcome, and key assumptions.
02
Obtain evidence
Validate the customer problem, demand, and willingness to buy, plus the assumptions that could change the decision.
03
Refine the model
Shape the proposition, business model, packaging, pricing logic, delivery model, and commercial approach.
Decision
04
Give it form
Turn the validated model into something executable: product or offer definition, MVP, requirements, operating model, and technology choices.
05
Execute and evolve
Pilot or launch, coordinate execution, measure real market response, iterate, and establish ongoing ownership.
The first three stages decide. The last two execute.

Built on Operating Experience, Not Theory
Product Upgraded is led by an operator who has spent twenty-plus years across product, technology and business leadership, built, launched, or scaled more than fifteen ventures, and helped scale technology businesses through 20x growth.

Why Product Upgraded
Senior ownership, not extra hands
The value is one experienced owner coordinating the commercial initiative end to end, not additional product-management capacity.
Business and product together
The work connects customer value, commercial model, product definition, technology, delivery, and launch.
From decision to execution
The mandate does not end with a strategy deck, research report, or requirements document. We stay through launch and early execution.
Founder
The Person Behind Product Upgraded
Product Upgraded exists because important growth initiatives often sit between functions without one experienced senior owner. Every engagement is led personally by the founder: an operator with twenty-plus years across product, technology and business leadership, and more than fifteen ventures built, launched, or scaled.
About the founderFAQ
Questions leaders ask first
What does a Fractional Product Executive actually own?
The defined commercial initiative: customer evidence, commercial model, proposition, product or service definition, technology direction, operating model, launch, measurement, and early execution. Internal teams and specialist partners may execute parts of the work; we own the outcome and the decisions that connect them.
Can't our product team do this?
Often they can execute much of it, and we work with them. What is usually missing is one senior owner with the mandate to connect customer evidence, commercial model, product, technology, delivery, and launch, and to make the go, change, or stop calls. That is the role we take.
Why not use a strategy or innovation consultancy?
Because the mandate should not end with a recommendation. We validate with evidence, then stay on to own product definition, build coordination, pilot, launch, and early execution until there is a working commercial result.
Why fractional instead of hiring a full-time CPO or venture leader?
The initiative is important enough to need executive-level ownership, but usually not broad enough to justify a permanent hire before it is proven. Fractional ownership gives you senior leadership for the specific mandate, with a clear path to internal ownership.
Can you take over an initiative that is already underway?
Yes. A common situation is an initiative with momentum but no clear senior owner: strategy and execution misaligned, or delivery, go-to-market, and product issues slowing progress. We step in, re-establish the evidence and decisions, and get it to the next stage.
Do you build the product or software yourselves?
No. We are not a development or design agency. Internal teams and specialist partners execute the build. We own the product, commercial, and technology decisions that direct it, and we lead the initiative through launch.
Does productization mean removing all bespoke work?
No. We identify what is repeatable and valuable enough to standardize, and what should deliberately stay bespoke because customers value it. The goal is a scalable commercial and operating model, not uniformity for its own sake.
Do we need AI or automation for this?
Only where the business problem calls for it. Automation, AI and software can enable a new product or a scalable delivery model, but they are means, not the category. The starting point is the customer, the commercial model, and the evidence.
What happens after launch and who owns the product internally?
The engagement is designed to end well: metrics, operating rhythm, and a named internal owner. Where useful, we stay in a fractional leadership role until the product or business line runs without us.
